Epsilon User's Manual and Reference > Variable Reference >

compile-in-separate-buffer: preference variable

Default value: 1

In some environments, the compile-buffer and make commands can do their work in a separate compilation buffer. This is the most reliable way for them to work. Set this variable to zero to force them to share an existing process buffer.

By default, when Epsilon compiles in a separate buffer, it doesn't display the buffer if the compilation finishes without errors. Set this variable to 2 if you want Epsilon to display the buffer as soon as the compilation starts.
