Unix-specific Enhancements in Epsilon 11
- Epsilon for Unix now works with the -add flag (to
add files to an existing Epsilon session). The
-dde flag, now renamed -server, now also works under Unix to
set the server name Epsilon uses. The Unix version also recognizes a
-wait flag. It works like -add, but also tells the sending
Epsilon process to wait until the user issues the
resume-client command. This is useful if you want to set an
external editor for a program, and have the request go to an existing
Epsilon session.
- The EEL compiler is now more integrated under Unix. As a
result, commands like eval and execute-eel now work,
and you can compile and load EEL source files without saving them to
disk first.
- Epsilon for FreeBSD now understands Alt keys when running on the
console keyboard with a suitable keymap. A new variable
national-keys-not-alt lets you control whether Epsilon
recognizes Alt keys or national language characters in those Unix
environments where only of these at a time may be used (such as the
FreeBSD console).
